Pilots in a real environment

Prototyping and piloting are so important for creating IoT solutions that in most of the cases must be treated as separate projects. There are several reasons for that, but the most critical for customer is risk mitigation by identifying of potential drawbacks related to applying specific IoT technologies, sensors in customer real-live environment and conditions. The main characteristics of IoT projects that they always include uncertainties related to environment and influeced by tangible factors, such as construction materials, air conditions, weather, electromagnetics fields and many other. Even very consistant factory testing and virtual simulations cannot garantee that expected results.

Such an approach helps to validate concepts and assumptions, identify technical challenges at early stages, build-in customer feedback into final solution, assess fuctionalities and performance in real-live conditions, verify inegration, interoperbility and regulatory issues, assess market fit and adoptation challenges, and serve as a good and tangible demostration of the solution. By investing time and resources in prototyping and piloting, companies can significantly improve the chances of a successful full-scale deployment, ultimately leading to a more robust, reliable, and user-centric IoT solution.

Innotrain offers small-scales pilots that require minimal investments to proof the concept and deliver observation in forms of extensive reports. Customer chooses the level of pilot, from simple prototype to MVP or/and production level of the solution with limited functionalities that can be independently tested for certain period of time. Results will be collected, analysed and reported to customer with recomendations.

“Effective IoT solution architecture should be developed top-down, starting from customer business goals. Throughout the development of an IoT solution, the focus must remain on how the customers will use it and how it will benefit them. There is a growing need to shift the focus of IoT architecture from a technology and provider-centric approach to a customer-oriented one.”
